 MAKE A BED

Step 1: Start with a comfortable mattress.

The quality of your mattress is crucial to your sleep. About how to select a perfect mattress, Google can tell you more authority answer.

Step 2: Cover the mattress with a mattress pad.

A mattress pad provides an extra layer of comfort and protects your mattress from dust, spills and, dare we say, stains. Use a cotton (vs. a polyester) mattress pad for extra breathability during the hot summer nights and insulation for the winter.

Step 3: Put the fitted sheet on over the mattress pad.

Start at one of the upper corners of your mattress, and pull the fitted sheet’s elastic down and over the mattress corner. Now smooth the sheet out, and repeat on the other upper mattress corner. Move to the foot of the bed, and finish pulling the fitted sheet into place, smoothing out all the edges and taking care to cover the entire mattress.

Step 4: Next comes your flat sheet.

Lay your flat sheet on top of your fitted sheet with the finished side facing down. To get that super crisp and tucked in look, make hospital corners on all four corners. Then fold over the top of the flat sheet.

Step 5: Layer with a blanket.

If you use a blanket for extra warmth, lay it on the bed and adjust so that the top hem is roughly a pillows-width below the upper edge of the mattress. Spread the sides of the blanket evenly over the mattress, and tuck the blanket in following the same procedure as with the fitted sheet.

Step 6: Layer your topper.

Whether you choose a quilt, bedspread, comforter, or duvet, this piece sets the tone for your bedroom style. Lay your bed topper over the blanket (or fitted sheet if you prefer not to use a blanket) and adjust so the topper is evenly draped over all sides of your mattress. Keep the top of the comforter a pillows-width below the top of the mattress. Now fold the exposed top of the fitted sheet down over the topper, and tuck the sides in snugly.

Step 7: Place your pillows.

Having pillows on the bed completes the look of the bedroom. It is always a good idea to match at least two pairs of shams (euro, standard or king) with your duvet cover, layer next with your sleeping pillows (the ones that come with your sheet set), and then add more decorative shams and a decorative throw pillow or two to complete the bed. We recommend covering your sleeping pillows with a pillow protector covers for longevity.
